Horizontal street art
This horizontal street art intervention transforms the Pinerolo Town Hall courtyard into a functional, sustainable ecosystem. Part of a European initiative to mitigate urban heat islands, the project converts a former parking lot into a vibrant space designed to reduce surface temperatures and enhance urban livability.
The artwork is a site-specific tribute to the local landscape. Its geometric patterns reflect an aerial view of the surrounding agricultural fields, offering a dual perspective: an immersive experience for those on the ground and a perfectly composed vista when viewed from the historical building’s windows.
By integrating the official Color Plan of the City of Pinerolo, the design ensures architectural harmony, while the Grey Heron in flight symbolizes environmental rebirth and the bridge between heritage and a sustainable future.
